Water Damage Tips

When water affects a property, it can be either clean or polluted, depending on the source. In order to protect your health and safety, it is important to know the source of the damage at the start of the cleaning process.
Some leaks will be obvious, such as floods in the basement, malfunctions in appliances, and clogged plumbing, while others may go unnoticed, such as those occurring behind walls and below.

Try to contain the water in the affected area
Remove as much standing water as possible through mopping or drying with a towel.
Wipe down all the furniture
Place a piece of foil between wet flooring and furniture legs.
Protect any furniture pillows or pillows
Lift the drapes off the floor, looping them through a coat hanger and hanging them on the curtain rod.
Remove all area carpets
Turn off any electrical items
